Happy Birthday Lisa!

Birthday wishes to Lisa today! I hope it's wonderful. You share it with my Mom who is 85 years young today. I hope God blesses you both greatly today and in the coming new year. I love you Lisa. I hope the poem below is a blessing to you today.

Here is a photo of my Mom and family (and me with big ole Texas style hair) at my Dad's last birthday party. Say a little prayer for her today, we will be having a birthday party for her at the nursing home today at 2:00, she is very excited!

A Birthday Wish for You!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue
I'm writing this birthday
Poem just for you.

It seems that on birthdays,
Most women are sad.
They dread and complain,
As though it were bad.

Instead of the joy
Of the life that they live,
They wish to be younger,
And back with the kids.

As though going back
Would be better somehow.
Some dream to be there
Instead of where they are now.

So I've done some prayin',
Of what I could do;
To say that I Love You!
Here's my birthday wish for you.

I wish you the joy
That another year brings.
The good health of our family.
That's not a small thing.

I wish you the knowledge
That your daughters know;
Mom's love will always warm them,
Through rain or through snow.

They go to bed knowing
That they're in your prayers;
And times that they need you,
You'll always be there.

I wish you a husband
Who tries harder each day;
To make your life better
And happier someway.

Who tries to be loving,
More understanding, and kind;
More giving, less selfish,
And less like a behind.

But for all of my wishing,
And good things I crave.
There's a better wish to make
For your special day.

I wish you the love
That only Christ brings.
To be holding your hand
Weather you cry or you sing.

I wish you the love
Only salvation knows.
To know He is with you
Wherever you go.

I wish you His presence
In times I'm not there.
He'll always be with you
With love and with care.

I wish you God's blessings
That He want to give;
And that I can't give you
No matter how long I live.

I wish God to bless you
With wisdom to see;
The blessings He's given
Through your love to me.

I don't know the reason,
I don't know the rhyme;
But some of God's richest blessings
Come only with time.

The youth often miss them.
These blessings refine;
Grow sweeter and sweeter
With love and with time.

So lift your heart with us,
And your birth celebrate.
God's blessings will come
To his children who wait.

So please don't be saddened,
And please don't be blue.
Know that your special,
And I'll always love you.

And know on your Birthday,
I lift you in prayer.
For God's richest blessings
And eternal care.
