all clogged up

It’s a really rainy dismal day here one of those days that you just want to curl up with a book and light a few candles. Well I had a little time today to curl up with THE GOOD BOOK and I lit a few candles and had a nice time with the Lord. As I went to the kitchen to fix a nice cup of cocoa I realized that my floors were a complete mess and needed a good vacuum so I proceeded to do just that. As I was vacuuming the floors I began to smell this terrible smell and couldn’t figure what it may be. The candles were fine, the Christmas tree was fine, I wasn’t cooking a thing and it dawned on me that my sweeper was emitting this terrible burning smell. I realized that I hadn’t emptied it for several days so it had quite a clog and was no longer working effectively and was letting off this awful odor.

As I was cleaning the reusable filter and watching all the dirt and grime that it had collected day after day run down the drain as the water was washing it clean I started to think about the Lord. I was thinking that this is what the Lord does when I get so full of it, full of the things I see, hear, and do, the cares of this life clogging up my life and rendering me ineffective and I become a stench in his nostrils. I have to come apart before him with repentance and prayer and spend time in his word that I may be cleansed and put back together to be a pleasing aroma to him. I realize like my sweeper I need to be emptied daily of my garbage and cleansed that I may be filled with his spirit. I also realize God doesn’t just throw me out when I mess up, become full of myself , walk in the flesh or allow the cares of this life to choke his word out but he cleans me up and renews a right spirit in me. Thank you Lord Jesus that you even teach me in simple household chores like cleaning out the sweeper. Praise your Holy name Jesus, you are worthy of all praise and thank you for cleaning me up time and time again and never tossing me out!

God Bless,
Lucy
